Lower Hereford Manor Lake is a 45-acre PFBC manage lake located in Beaver County, just off of Route 288 west of Zelienople. On May 10, 2007, personnel from the Area One Fisheries Management office in Linesville sampled the bass population in the lake using a night electrofishing boat. In 80 minutes of electrofishing we caught a total of 140 largemouth bass. Fish ranged in size from 6 to over 19 inches. An impressive catch of 54 bass over 15 inches (39%) was recorded. Fish over 12 inches comprised 71% of the total catch. Lower Hereford Manor is in the “Big Bass Program” and bass are managed with a 15-inch minimum size limit and a 4 fish per day creel limit.

CPUE = (Catch Per Unit Effort) the number of fish caught per hour of night electrofishing
CPUE>300 mm = the number of fish caught per hour of electrofishing that were greater then 300 mm (approx~12 inches)
CPUE>375 mm = the number of fish caught per hour of electrofishing that were greater then 375 mm (approx~15 inches)
